HOW TO PRAY SUCCESSFULLY!

We all have needs and desires but true success in prayer is found in giving!  What do I mean? Some years ago I arrived in Somerset without a job and for the first time in my life I felt unwanted and worthless.  No job came and I was feeling really low and remembered all the people I had spoken of so badly when I was employed.  “They don’t want to work the idle lot” etc, etc and I knew I had spoken unwisely.  I asked God to forgive me for the accusations I had made about others and I prayed for work and businesses in the town to be blessed.  I pleaded with God on behalf of those out of work to help them as I now knew how they were feeling and it was not good.  That same week I found a job cleaning cars and I was so happy and had the best and cleanest car lot in town.  Things have changed in our town and businesses and the town has grown.  You see, I took my eyes off my own problems and remembered my sin and repented and prayed for others.  I actually started doing what God loves us all to do!

“Do for others what you want them to do for you: this is the meaning of the Law of Moses and of the teachings of the prophets.”

I found myself doing the will of God and praying for others before myself.  Another proof of God working through me and I was so thankful for such a breakthrough against that old selfish person I had been.  Oh how wonderful to give but how much more wonderful for God to act and grant my request.  I always try considering others now in finances and sickness as I make my own requests known to God.  It is so good to take the focus off me and use the requests to benefit others too!  God is much bigger than my problems and gets prayers for those around me who I might not have included had it not been for my own circumstances. I tell you if you are in trouble look for others and lift them up to God.  Noisy neighbours? Pray for those who are suffering the same thing in your area!  Suffering financial difficulties?  Pray for those in need and try sowing a seed into someone’s poverty.  Do to them as you would love to have done to you!  It works and it releases us to give and trust our God to supply our every need. Sometimes a step of faith seems so difficult but is possible, as are all things in Christ Jesus Our Lord.

“If you give to others, you will be given a full amount in return. It will be packed down, shaken together, and spilling over into your lap. The way you treat others is the way you will be treated.”Luke 6:38

Jesus said, “I didn't make this up.  What I teach comes from the One who sent me. Anyone who wants to do his will can test this teaching and know whether it's from God or whether I'm making it up.”
John 7:16-17 

God loves us and when we belong to Him we have direct access to the throne room of God.  His blood that washes away our sin allows us to enter into the Holy of Holies and talk to Our Heavenly Father who has given us eternal life.  The chances we now have to see changes done in our world through our prayer and belief in Him are astounding.  We might never be anything in this life or to the world but to God we are his Children, Kings and Priests of the Most High.  We have an enemy trying to rob, steal, kill and destroy but we have Our Lord Jesus and Our Heavenly Father and The Holy Spirit in our hearts to help us pray.  Think of others and especially those that hate you and mock you and ask Jesus to help you pray for them that they can be saved too!  Forgive them as the Lord God forgave you and be a front line warrior for God.  The need is great and it is God’s will that all will be saved.  It is hard to forgive and pray sometimes but it is no harder than Jesus hanging in agony on that tree finding forgiveness for those who had mocked and nailed Him there.  We can call on His strength to help us and He will help and give us miraculous victories as we seek to do His will!
